Barry Keoghan has revealed that he’s been undergoing a skin-tightening treatment.

The news comes six months after the Saltburn star spoke out against the online “abuse” that he has faced regarding his looks.

“I feel better about myself,” Keoghan said over footage of him undergoing the XERF treatment.

Barry Keoghan is offering a peek behind the blinds of his beauty regimen.

Just a few months after getting candid about how hurtful he’s found the online vitriol about his looks, the Peaky Blinders star has revealed that he is undergoing a cosmetic enhancement. Keoghan, 34, is the latest celebrity to invest in XERF skin tightening, a non-invasive needle-free procedure that uses radio frequency to lift and tighten skin.

“I mean, I’ve been hearing a lot about it,” Keoghan said in an Oct. 23 video (below) posted by Dermaspa owner Nilam Holmes. “And Nilam is very excited about it and she’s great at what she does. I really mean that, and again, every time I come in, it’s very relaxing and therapeutic. Nilam looks after my skin.”

Footage of Keoghan undergoing the treatment sees him lying down on a table as Holmes works on his face from above, using a device to treat the skin of his cheeks, nose, and jawline.

“I feel better about myself,” Keoghan added. “I look better. I think it’s important to look after yourself inside and outside.”

XERF is a means of tightening the skin and renewing collagen without injections or topical numbing, according to Dermaspa’s website. Pricing for the treatment begins at around £4,500 (approximately $5,300) for two rounds.

In the caption of her post, Holmes noted that she’s been “working with Barry for a while now” and “looking after his skin through different movies, campaigns and projects.”

Noting that the filmed session was Keoghan’s second XERF treatment, she added, “The trust he places in me means a lot. His skin has really improved over the last few years and he looks great.”

Holmes has also worked with Joe Alwyn, Chris Appleton, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, and Nicole Scherzinger. Additionally, stars including Naomi Watts and Kim Kardashian have spoken positively about their experience using XERF.

The video comes half a year after Keoghan spoke out about the hurtful online commentary surrounding his appearance, admitting that he’s receded somewhat from the public eye and is “hiding away” in the wake of the vitriol.

“There’s a lot of hate online,” Keoghan said during a March visit to SiriusXM’s The Morning Mash Up. “There’s a lot of abuse of how I look, and it’s kind of past the point of — you know, everyone goes through that… but it’s made me shy away. It’s made me really go inside myself, not want to attend places, not want to go outside.”

He added, “It’s becoming a problem… I actually don’t go to places because of these things.”

The radio appearance also saw Keoghan address his decision to deactivate his Instagram account in 2024, not long after ending his heavily publicized romance with Sabrina Carpenter, The actor said that he “removed himself” from social media but can’t help checking in sometimes to see how his public appearances are being talked about.

“I’m still a curious human being that wants to go on [the internet],” he said. “And if I attend an event or if I go somewhere, you want to see how it’s received. And it’s not nice, you know?”

Keoghan is currently filming two major projects: Matt Reeves’ The Batman: Part II and Sam Mendes’ four Beatles biopics, in which he will portray Ringo Starr alongside Harris Dickinson’s John Lennon, Paul Mescal’s Paul McCartney, and Joseph Quinn’s George Harrison.
