"We should not be waiting" - When WNBA stars were denied entry at a club despite saying they're with Angel Reese

However, for Minnesota Lynx guards Courtney Williams and Natisha Hiedeman, one night out during the All-Star Weekend became an unexpected viral moment after they were denied entry into a nightclub.

Even name-dropping WNBA superstar Angel Reese did not help Williams and the group's situation. What followed instead was a heated exchange between the WNBA All-Stars and the club's security.

Williams and Hiedeman were among the personalities attracting attention during WNBA All-Star Weekend and their friendship and Twitch broadcasts had helped them develop a following outside the league.

However, the nightclub's security personnel unfortunately didn't know who they were. Williams and her fellow WNBA stars expected to get in and have a great time, but apparently, they weren't included on the guest list.

When asked about having a section, Williams explained that it might have been just a confusion because they were accompanying Reese, who was also in Indianapolis for the festivities.

"We with Angel Reese, though," Williams told the security as she tried to get in.

After security still refused to let them in, Williams expressed her frustration. She argued that their status as WNBA All-Stars should have carried some weight and bypassed the club's existing rules regarding sections.

"We in the 'W' and s—t and we just got done at the All-Star Game," Williams later ranted. "So, I'm sorry, I'm not even trying to be funny, but we should not be waiting in no line."

Rather than continue arguing with the unfazed club security, Williams decided that the group would be better off finding another venue. Her frustration and anger were evident as she addressed her fellow WNBA stars and suggested that they take their business somewhere that would welcome them.

"We gotta go somewhere else," Williams told her fellow WNBA stars, suggesting they go to the Sports Illustrated party. "We don't got to deal with this s—t, this ghetto a— s—t."

Williams' fallback plan was not a downgrade, as the Sports Illustrated event was one of the prominent celebrity events during the All-Star festivities.

Having quickly moved on from the embarrassing nightclub rejection, Williams and the crew eventually made their way to the Sports Illustrated party. It turned out to be a move that even provided the "StudBudz" with another opportunity to turn their night into content for their growing audience.

While at the party, Williams linked up with famous DJ Diplo. She approached the DJ booth and requested to change the genre of the music from electronic and country-inspired selections to hip-hop.

Diplo did not think twice and switched it as Williams requested. He also addressed the interaction on social media and revealed that he had a great time with the WNBA stars too.

"I loved this party and I love a challenge as a dj. I was booked with the amazing @carlypearce . we had a country vibe going – if all the studs and WNBA All Stars want to turn up I'm goin to run it .. its not hard for me to go from country/ house / hip hop and take everyone on a journey and be as inclusive as possible . If Courtney comes with this energy I'm gonna match it," Diplo said .

Looking back, Williams and her fellow WNBA stars proved that night that their resilience extends beyond the court. Instead of letting a bad experience cap their night, they kept the positive energy and moved on.
